Although Emily and Maurilio met in middle school, life took them their separate ways until 16 years later when Emily sent Maurilio a simple message – Happy Birthday! Though their budding romance required a long-distance relationship (Emily lived in Texas and Maurilio in Brazil), despite the distance and many hard good-byes, their love continued to grow and flourish. 

And on one of the last “normal” weekends of 2020, family and friends flew across the world to celebrate Emily and Maurilio and their marriage! 

Briscoe Manor Wedding

With its limestone architecture and gorgeous grounds, Briscoe Manor is a beautiful spot for a wedding! After a romantic ceremony in the Briscoe Chapel, family and friends gathered in the main hall to feast and celebrate the night away (of course with Cowboy hats and flags representing Texas and Brazil)! We loved all of the personal details Emily and Mauri included to represent their relationship – from personalized candies imprinted with “Em & M” to the mouth-watering Brigadeiros (a traditional Brazilian dessert served at weddings). Congrats Emily and Maurilio!
